Its official

Next year i will be going to meadowbank TAFE to do a remedial massge course, at first i wasn't that happy about it being my second preferance i wanted to do the Fitness certificate but once i read what i can do after i finish the remedial massge course i was much happier. If i work hard enough i can apply at uni and do a number of different health services which means i can do the physiotherapist course which i always wanted to do, but never thought i would because of the marks i needed to get to do the course so now im happy.

Now the next thing is finding a JOB i have been looking everywhere and nothing seems to be happening i even applied at woolworths working in the back unloading all the food (which wouldn't be to bad i would get a work out lifting all the boxes). I need money so i can pay for textbooks and other school stuff that i will need for next year, so if anyone out there knows of any job openings for a 18 year old male i would like to know because that would help me out alot i would do anything.

Standing Tall

Due to the fact that im always at home usually doing nothing except sitting infront of the tv watching boring shows or playing my guitar i decided that i would catch up on some reading, i saw a book in dymocks when i was doing my christmas shopping called Standing Tall the Tawera Nikau story. I love to read autobiography's especially ones on athletes who have been challenge in some way during their career and come out a better person, or just to see what really happens in a professional athletes life that no one really sees or hears.

Reading about the challenges that he faced during his long and injujry free career playing for NZ, NZ Maori's, Waikato, Auckland, Sheffield Eagles, Ryedale-York, Castleford, Cronulla, Melbourne and Warrington. Tawera Nikau played 456 first class games all over the world, and won a premeirshhip with melbourne in 1999. It was awesome to see the way he was able to keep his body in shape for that long to be able to play at that level of football for so long. But the real trouble would come after he finished football.

On April 5 2001 Tawera Nikua's wife commited suicide in her garage hanging herself, leaving him with 2 kids, i don't even want to imagine how hard that would have to of been to deal with that it must of been the most difficult period in his life. Then in July 1 2003 he was in a motorbike accident lossing his right leg, he talks about lying in the bed not being able to do anything except wait for the pain to go away. When i did my shoulder i was like that after surgery all i could do was lay in that bed and just let things happen, with the help of drugs i was able to go home the next day and start rehab. He was in there for 8 weeks, while he was there he was given gifts and cards from all over the world, from people he had played with and fans from teams he played for and that was just something that only happen to special people.

On the back of the book it says YOU DON'T NEED TWO LEGS TO CARRY ON WITH ALL THE GREAT THINGS YOU CAN DO. Since i got my results back i had been thinking about what i was gonna do after receiving such a poor mark, and i said to myself after reading this book that it doesn't matter what i got people have to face bigger problems then what i have and come out better then before. I don't know whats gonna happen next year but i know whatever it is im just gonna have to wait and see i know God has something wating for me.

This was a big challenge for me and an awesome book to read about a person who had a very successful career then his life was turned upside down and now he's a new person living a new life.

someone i never thought i would see again

Today was nice i had the dads side christmas lunch, which was fun we sat around and talked for a little while then went outside to eat lunch then decided it was to hot so we went back inside with the air conditioning and watched the cricket very nice.
Then i had to head back early for practice which was fun(always is) and so was the service
Tonight i had the chance to go catch up with some friends from school and see how they went in their hsc which was good, i also had the chance to catch up with an old friend who left school after year 10. It was quite strange meeting her again and talking about what she has been doing for the past 2 years, after she left and moved to South Australia without telling anyone, it was good to see her back even though she was only staying for a week it was nice to see here again.

Advance Australia Fair Disco Style

When i heard about this new disco version that would be played on new years eve i was just so angry that some person could do that to our national anthem and think it was good to show it to the rest of the world. They just wrecked the song that makes use Australian, what happened to the old fashion band verison that is played at every sporting occasion when the national anthem is played it is echoed all over the stadium because everyone is singing with pride, when the wallabies are playing do you expect to see them dancing around in the new version before they go out and play it is just stupid. NO its a song that should be left the way it is, with this disco version it has no meaning, it just has so a good beat or so people say. What happened to the words that make the song.

This is just my opinion i think it was a stupid idea and it shouldn't be used on new years eve.

Back in training

Today was the start of pre season training for me, i had a break for a while to just have a break from everything and now that im not doing anything i might as well get my body back in shape for next season. Today i wrote myself up a program of what will happen and it looks pretty good, lots of variety so that should spread out everything so i don't get tired to easily and so i don't get bored doing the same stuff over and over again.

It also helps having your own room with all the gym stuff in it so my room doesn't smell from all the sweat, my mum had a huge problem going into my room when i had the weight bench in there because she said it smelt but i didn't smell anything. But now that its gone i've been told it doesn't smell anymore which is good, it also means that i have alot more room to move around when i lift weights so i can do different exercises to work different muscles which i couldn't do before.

I went for my first run tonight (first in about a month) and i would have to say i was struggling at the end sprinting up the hill on Binalong Rd it was hard but hopefully the more i do it the easier it will get. playing next year is going to be another step up so i have to get myself ready both physically and mentally so this is the start, should be fun.

What a weekend

Well it all started on the saturday morning where i had to wake up real early so i could help out to move all the sound equipment over to the park for the carols that were supposed to be on later that night, so that was a good workout lifting heavy sound equipment onto the trucks. Then me and alot of other people were all working very hard to get the stage set up, the more people that were there the easy and quicker it was to get everything ready so it was good. In the morning you could feel it was gonna be a hot day so there was lots of sweating and drinking lots of water, but we got it done. Then i had to go and help my aunty move some stuff from her garage, from what i moved it seemed like she was gonna get a fireplace but it could be for decoration i don't know.

After all the hard work went home had a shower got everything ready for carols and headed off to prawns for his party, i can say i was first one there which was cool then princess showed up and then kate and leesh and it would've been good to stick around and have a bbq lunch but i had to head up to the park because i had a rehearsal ( i was singing in the choir) so standing the sun for 3 hours while the sound dudes got all their mic's and sound stuff ready, it was very hot. Practice was good, the people doing solos were just awesome i was looking forward to ellie and steve's solos they were so good. While we were practicing we could see the large grey clouds were getting closer and that it was going to rain soon, so when practice was all done it was walking back to prawns to join in the party i got half way and it just stayed to rain very heavily which was not good. i ran to jimmy's dropped my stuff off and ran back to the park to help out in what ever way i could. When i got there they had covered most of the stage but everything got wet. For the next hour they were just watching the weather seeing if it would fine up but it didn't which was very sad, probably the high light of that period was when the sound guys played a cd with christmas carols in a rock version it was cool with guitar solos and everything very 80's rock so that made me i little happy.

In the end the decision was made to cancel the carols because of the rain which was very upsetting becasue so many people had put in hours of work to get this thing up and running and it was all over because of the weather, but if its supposed to happen then it happens theres nothing you can do about the weather. The backup of the stage was the fastest i had ever seen there were so many people helping out to get it down it was great.

After that went back to prawns to watch a movie and eat some pizza with prawns friends from kedron which was cool, then me and kate leesh rob dave and rach went to the caltex and went to some park that rob said was good to see all the lights of the city, which didn't really happen because the park was closed off so we didn't get to see much so we ended up eating our ice cream and drinks in the street. Then after a long day i went home and went to sleep.

Sunday morning up early again well earlier then i would usually get up on a sunday and went down to the school to help set up for the kids festival that the church was running, spent the day cooking on the bbq and talking to people and eating food it was good, it looked like alot of people had fun so that was good hopefully people who were in the service listened to what people were saying and took it on board.

After a long day after church was back at the sinkers pad for a swim, so kate leesh princess steve b2 john bjd alison dave and rach came and had fun playing classical catches and seeing who could stay on the logest on the swiss ball which had some very funny moments. As everyone was getting out the rain started to come down so hopefully this rain can continue for a long time so it was fill me pool back up because when everyone left the level of water in the pool was very low so that would be nice.

Well that about it lots of fun time to rest and go sleep for a day and do nothing which won't be very hard. CYA

nice day

Today was a very cool day i got to spend the day with my nephew josh becasue his mum and dad were at work so i got the job of being the babysitter which was cool, we had heaps of fun. Playing with his toys and watching wiggles videos and dancing around and going on the swing it was great fun. Probably the best part was when we went for a walk to get some lunch down the road i put him in the stroller and as he were walking back he fell asleep and it was the cutest thing to see thing little guy sleeping. He had lots of fun to, he's great with picking up chicks when we were buying the food all the girls were comin up and talking to him it was funny.

Then tonight was Sir bjd's bday party which was a great time, it just showed me how many people he has helped in some way and would want to help celebrate in this day so happy birthday dude. Also it was prawn's bday as well, you to have be such great friends to me and have shown me the way that i should live my life to bring glory to God so thank you for that, hope you had an awesome day.

I don't know what to do

Tonight at church i started getting the feeling of why am i doing this for, im the one that helps in leading the congregation in worship and i suck, i don't know why im doing it for maybe they should get someone else to do it for me. I have been doing it for almost a year and half now and lately i have just been getting this feeling that its time to stop and do something else or just not be apart of anything. I love worshipping God its the best way for me to show my love for him, but to be out the front every second week in front of everyone i just feel i can't do it anymore.

I don't know why this has happened maybe becasue alot of stuff is happening and i can't deal with them all at once, it just gets very frustrating and im trying to deal with these things but lately i've just given up on things and it makes you feel bad when things go wrong and you try and fix them.

I don't know maybe i need a break from it till i sought things out and then go back, or maybe i should try something else i want to play guitar which has always been a good way for me to relax and just play music that i love to do.

the waiting game

On Tuesday i had to do some shopping so i took in some resumes to put into shops so i could get a job, i went to Koorong, Rebel, Target and City Beach a surf shop. City Beach is probably the most promising the store manager had a quick look at my resume and said that he would give it to the recruit manager and they would call me back to say if i got the job. The spot only just opened because someone just left, so that was good. It hate waiting to find out things like this everytime i hear the fone ring i think its them, i can't go anywhere because im scared if i go out they might call and then i will miss it and not get the job.

i really want this job because its full time so i won't be stuck at home all day doing nothing i would be working in a surf shop earning money. Also if i got the job i might get discounts on clothes and then i can look smick in my cool surfy clothes.
